What We Publish
PakSimLookUp publishes guides about Pakistani mobile-number formats, network prefixes, Mobile Number Portability, SIM registration, and official SIM verification. Every article covers only the official, PTA-authorized methods for checking SIM information: *668#, cnic.sims.pk, MNP to 667, and PTA's complaint portal. We do not operate, access, or promote any private SIM database, paid lookup service, or third-party CNIC data tool.
Independence
PakSimLookUp is an independent information resource. We are not affiliated with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), NADRA, or any telecom operator. Reference to official channels does not imply endorsement. For official regulatory information, always verify at pta.gov.pk and nadra.gov.pk.
Sourcing Standards
Every statistic, code, date, and legal reference on this site must trace back to at least one of:
- The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) — official releases, the numbering plan, and public notices
- PTA's official SIM verification guidance, including the how-to-check verification status of your SIM/CNIC guidance page
- Mobile network operators' official websites — service codes and SIM policies
- PKCERT — security advisories and malware analysis
- The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA 2016) — the legislation governing unauthorized access to data
- A named, dated news outlet (e.g., Dawn, Express Tribune, ProPakistani) where official documents are not public
If a figure or date cannot be traced to a source of this kind, we leave it out. Figures that drift between unofficial sites are flagged rather than repeated. Where we have repeated a claim that later proved false, we correct it openly and note the correction (see below).
Source Hierarchy
When a claim can be traced to more than one source, we prefer, in order:
- PTA — official releases, notices, the numbering plan, and the SIM verification guidance
- NADRA — official announcements on identity verification and MBVS
- Telecom operators — official websites for service codes and SIM policies
- Legislation and court documents — e.g., PECA 2016, Supreme Court orders on SIM limits
- Named, dated news reporting — e.g., Dawn, The Express Tribune, ProPakistani, Geo Fact Check — only where the primary document is not public
Fact-Checking Procedure
Every article follows the same verification workflow before publication:
- Every regulatory claim is checked against the original government or operator source — not against other websites that repeat it.
- Official codes (*668#, MNP to 667, cnic.sims.pk, 76367) are verified against PTA's own guidance and operator documentation, and re-tested on a quarterly review cycle.
- Statistics are traced to the specific PTA publication (e.g., the quarterly Telecom Indicators report) or a named, dated news report, and the source is linked on the page.
- Anything that cannot be traced to a source in the hierarchy above is removed or explicitly flagged as unverified.
- If a claim is found to be wrong or superseded, the page is corrected, the correction date is recorded in the page's sources section, and the change is noted below.
Correction Policy
We correct errors openly. If a page contained an outdated or incorrect figure, the page is updated with the verified figure and the correction is noted in the page's sources section.

Dates and Updates
Every page shows a "last reviewed" date that reflects an actual review, not an assumed freshness date. We do not publish artificial or rolling "updated" claims. Content is re-verified quarterly: official codes are re-tested, statistics are refreshed to the newest official figure, and the "last reviewed" date on each page is updated to the date the review actually happened. Major regulatory changes (policy shifts, operator mergers, new official channels) are incorporated as they are announced by PTA or the relevant authority.
No Paid Placement
We accept no payment for content, links, or placement. All guides are written independently, and no operator, agency, or third party can buy a mention, a link, or a favorable treatment on this site.
