PTA SIM Limit Policy
PTA enforces a maximum of 8 SIMs per CNIC — 5 voice SIMs and 3 data-only SIMs. This limit was set by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on November 5, 2015. Exceeding this limit triggers DIRBS-based enforcement with phased blocking starting with voice services.
If you discover unauthorized SIMs on your CNIC via the 668 service, you can file a complaint with PTA at 0800-55055 or visit your operator's franchise to disown the SIMs. The 365-day disowning window (introduced May 2026) means unauthorized SIMs stay on your CNIC longer, making regular checks essential.
Important: All PTA services listed on this page are free or charge only standard SMS rates. PTA never demands payment over the phone. If someone calls claiming to be from PTA and asks for money, it is a scam. Report such calls to PTA at 0800-55055.
Avoid third-party websites claiming to offer "PTA services" — PTA only operates through the official channels listed on this page. Unauthorized access to SIM information may violate PECA 2016.
